2023 Mazda CX-3 launched in Malaysia, from RM115k – new 1.5L Plus & 2.0L Plus variants



Bermaz Motor has just introduced the newly-updated 2023 Mazda CX-3 here in Malaysia and has added two new variants to the lineup, namely the 1.5L Plus and 2.0L Plus, which essentially replace the 1.5L and 2.0L Core variants that were offered previously. The Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia comes fully imported (CBU) from Thailand and is offered at a starting price of RM115,720 (OTR, without insurance). Order books for the newly-updated crossover are officially open nationwide.

As standard, the 2023 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia is fitted with automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRL), LED rearlights, rear fog lights, automatic folding side mirrors, automatic wipers, and rear parking sensors. The 2.0L High variant gets extra kits including front LED fog lights, a powered sunroof, and front parking sensors.

Both the 1.5 Plus and 2.0L Plus variants are fitted with 16-inch single-tone alloys, while the range-topping 2.0L High variant has received a fresh set of 18-inch dual-tone alloys.

Customers in Malaysia are also given a choice of seven colours to go with their Mazda CX-3. The colour choices consist of Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Soul Red Crystal, and Platinum Quartz which is only available for the 2.0L High variant, as well as a newly added colour – Aero Gray.

Powering the 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus is the brand’s 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated SkyActiv engine, paired with a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic gearbox. This results in a total of 114 hp and 149 Nm being sent to the front wheels.

At the heart of the 2023 Mazda CX-3 2.0L Plus and 2.0L High is the more powerful 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated SkyActiv engine and SkyActiv-Drive automatic gearbox setup. This sends 154 hp and 206 Nm to the front wheels as well.

Inside, the 2023 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia comes with features such as an electronic parking brake (EPB), leather-wrapped steering wheel, and paddle shifters, along with an 8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display that now supports wireless Apple CarPlay, on top of Android Auto.

The top-spec Mazda CX-3 2.0L High gets more equipment like leather seats with memory function, single-zone automatic air-conditioning, a heads-up display, and a rear-view monitor with auto-dimming.

This comprises features such as high beam control (HBC), blind spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), lane departure warning system (LDWS), and smart city brake support (SCBS). These features were previously introduced in the range-topping Mazda CX-3 2.0L High variant that was launched in Malaysia last year.
