The 2024 Mazda CX-5 facelift has just been launched in Malaysia. Priced from RM146,879.20 (OTR, without insurance), the Japanese C-segment SUV is available in five variants and is locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah, together with the brand’s CX-30 and CX-8 SUVs.

On the outside, the facelifted Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia is fitted with the new oblong-shaped LED headlights and, along with a new front bumper. The new C-segment SUV can be had with two new exterior colour options, namely Polymetal Gray and Platinum Quartz, as well as the existing colour options which include Jet Black, Snowflake White Pearl, Machine Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, and Soul Red Crystal.

Inside, the facelifted Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia now comes standard with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay support for its 8-inch infotainment head unit, a Qi wireless charger, and an LED ambient lighting system. Also included as standard is Mazda’s Advanced Keyless Entry system.
Complementing its Human Centric Development, Mazda has redesigned the facelifted CX-5’s seats to “reduce the occupants’ body sway by optimising its structure and how the entire seat cushion surface is flexed when sat in”. Mazda further explains that the CX-5 seat holds the occupants’ spine in an S-shaped curve, allowing the spine to flex in response to vibration transmitted from the pelvis to stabilise the occupants’ heads.
