Video: 2023 Mazda 3 facelift (IPM), from RM156k – 5 Things

Following its global update this year, the 2023 Mazda 3 has now been launched in Malaysia, offering several new upgrades to make it more convenient and up to date. The 1.5-litre Mid variant has been dropped so there are now 3 variants and 2 body styles of the 2023 Mazda 3.

Prices of the 2023 Mazda 3 start from RM156,059 for the High Sedan variant. Up a tier, the Mazda 3 High Plus costs RM166,059 for both the sedan and liftback body styles. Topping the range is the Mazda 3 Ignite Edition which is only available as a Liftback and costs RM175,059.

No changes have been made to the exterior of the Mazda 3 and the Malaysian market doesn’t even get any new colours. In regions like Japan the updated Mazda 3 has been given some new colour options. The wheels are 16 inches in size for the High variant and 18 inches in size for both the High Plus and Ignite Edition variants.

Powering the Mazda 3 is now a single powertrain option which is the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated SkyActiv-G engine. It makes 162 hp and 213 Nm, and it is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard. All power is sent to the front wheels only.

Inside is where most of the updates have been given to the Mazda 3. These include the new 10.25-inch head unit, Wireless Apple CarPlay (High Plus and Ignite Edition only), USB-C ports, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system (Ignite Edition only).
