KLIMS 2024 confirmed for 5-11 December, “M” now means Mobility

The Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 will be held from December 5 to 11 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, as announced by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) today. Following naming trends of international shows such as the Japan Mobility Show, KLIMS which was previously known as the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show has been renamed to the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show.

The last KLIMS was held back in 2018, which was also held at MITEC. Interesting cars that were showcased during KLIMS 2018 include the Perodua Myvi GT Concept and the Toyota FT-1 Concept which eventually became the A90 Toyota Supra. Being an international auto show, one could also expect to see some concept cars being showcased at KLIMS 2024.

After a six-year hiatus, we can expect a drastic change to the cars that will be exhibited at KLIMS 2024. This is due to many new brands that have entered (and re-entered) the Malaysian market in the past years including BYD, Tesla, and Chery. Besides, the electric vehicle (EV) market in Malaysia has grown significantly in the past six years.

During Malaysia Autoshow 2023, Perodua showcased the eM-O Concept car. Could we see an updated version of the concept car at KLIMS 2024, or perhaps a glimpse of Perodua or Proton’s first EV model?
