All-new Peugeot e-3008 displayed at KLIMS 2024, EV SUV shown to gauge Malaysian consumer interest

Having been spotted on Malaysian roads a while back, the all-new third-generation Peugeot 3008 has popped up at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024, displayed in its EV form – dubbed e-3008 – to gauge interest from consumers.

Globally, the Peugeot e-3008 sits on the Stellantis STLA Medium vehicle platform and is available in three variants.

The base e-3008 is a 2WD with a single-motor on the front axle making 213 hp and 343 Nm of torque. With a 73 kWh battery, it can provide up to 525km of range. Next up is a long-range variant of the base trim with 231 hp and 343 Nm of torque, but a larger 98 kWh battery that could take it up to 700km.

Lastly comes an AWD, dual-motor configuration with 326 hp and a 73 kWh battery that’s good for a claimed 525km of range.

A 160 kW DC fast charger will get the battery from 20-80% in 30 minutes. There’s also an onboard 11 kW AC charger with the option to upgrade to 22 kW AC charger.

Peugeot brought out the GT variant for KLIMS and this means the Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit inside with a 21-inch curved touchscreen. There’s also a set of touch-sensitive buttons that can be customised to access up to 10 functions that’s commonly used by the driver. This can range from audio to air-conditioning and navigation.

It also has a traction control for snow, mud and sand, whereas the ADAS features comprise the usual adaptive cruise control with lane change, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and mitigation as well as long-range blind spot monitoring.

Though this electric variant is on display, Stellantis Malaysia could very well bring in more conventional petrol or hybrid powertrains for the all-new 3008 that includes a 1.2-litre PureTech mild-hybrid inline-three or a 1.6-litre PHEV petrol powertrain.
