All-new Hyundai Santa Fe to launch in the Philippines in Q1 2024

The all-new fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe will be making its launch in the Philippines in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024. Just announced by Hyundai Motor Philippines recently, the new SUV has been previewed in the country for customers to get a glimpse of it.

Dimension-wise, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe measures 4,830 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,720 mm tall, and is underpinned by a 2,815 mm long wheelbase. This makes it 45 mm longer, 10 mm taller, and features a wheelbase that is longer by 50 mm, compared to the outgoing generation Santa Fe.

Globally, the fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe comes with four powertrain options. This includes the 2.5-litre turbo petrol that makes 281 hp (metric) and 422 Nm, the 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol that produces 194 hp (metric) and 246 Nm, the 1.6-litre turbo hybrid that makes 235 hp (metric) and 367 Nm, and the 1.6-litre turbo plug-in hybrid (PHEV) which power figures are yet to be confirmed.

No details regarding the fifth generation Santa Fe’s specifications and variants have been confirmed for the Philippines just yet. However, it is expected to come as a 7-seater, based on the preview model shown in the archipelago.

Closer to home, order books for the outgoing-generation Santa Fe facelift have been opened since early November. Locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia, the Korean SUV will be offered in three variants.

Out of the three variants offered with the fourth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe facelift here in Malaysia, two are hybrids and one is a diesel. This includes the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Plus, Santa Fe Hybrid Max, and the Santa Fe Diesel Max.

The hybrid variants are powered by a combination of a 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine and an electric motor. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, this setup sends 230 hp (metric) and 350 Nm to the front wheels.

The Diesel Max variant sports a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine that sends 202 hp (metric) and 440 Nm to all four wheels via Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system and an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
