Kia EV9 teaser images revealed – world premiere this month, 482 km range, 350 kW fast charging

Kia has revealed more teasers for its new flagship fully-electric SUV, the EV9 after releasing some images recently. The name EV9, comes from Kia’s EV nomenclature, pairing ‘EV’ (electric vehicle) with the number ‘9’, which represents the model’s segment among Kia’s EV lineup.

The images do not reveal much but it does show how striking the EV9’s front section would be with striking light patterns and multiple LED light projectors. Details are still scarce but for now, we know that the EV9 will be built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture.

The E-GMP is Kia’s dedicated EV platform and is the same 800V architecture that the EV6 is built on. The EV9 is expected to offer an electric range of up to 482 km and can take up to 350 kW of fast charging where 10-80% state of charge is expected to take 20 to 30 minutes.

Last year, Kia revealed a camouflaged EV9 undergoing its final tests, after 44 months of development. Over the period, the EV9 was subjected to deep water wading, rough terrains, hill climbs, cobbled road surfaces and various other tests on stability and handling.

Alongside the teaser images, Kia also announced that it will fully reveal both the exterior and interior design in mid-March with a world premiere set to take place at the end of this month.
