2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift launched in Malaysia – 7/8-seater SUV, from RM369k

The YDPA-approved seven-seater SUV has just been given a facelift update. Arriving here in Malaysia approximately nine months after its global debut, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift will be offered here in both a seven- and eight- seater variant, with prices starting at RM368,888 for the entry-level variant.

2023 Hyundai Palisade exterior

For the 2023 facelift update, Hyundai has given the Palisade a significant makeover for its front fascia, characterised by the large ‘Cascading Grille’ occupying almost the entire front end. The daytime running lights have been pushed to the edges, with a segmented signature that visually joins the grille element to the headlight cluster below.

All variants of the new 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift here in Malaysia will feature a full-LED lighting system up front, including the turn indicators which are hidden within the grille, but at the rear, only the petrol variants get the redesigned LED tail lights; diesel variants, like the one pictured here, will feature halogen bulb illumination.

Tying up the exterior redesign are the new bumpers and skid plate elements, alongside a new set of 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Thanks to its new design touches, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade has actually grown approximately 15 mm in length with a slightly longer front overhang, although other dimensions are unchanged.

Exterior colour choices for the new 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift include Creamy White Pearl, Graphite Gray Metallic (pictured), Shimmering Silver Metallic, Gaia Brown Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, and Moonlight Blue Pearl.

Unchanged powertrain offerings

The powertrain offerings underneath the bonnet of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift remain unchanged from before. Buyers will get to choose between a 3.8-litre naturally-aspirated V6 petrol engine, or a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel. These are unfortunately still Hyundai’s older Lambda series of engines, and not the latest Smartstream units, which are not offered on the Palisade globally.

Only the diesel variants will be offered with Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive system here in Malaysia.

Significantly refreshed interior

A key update to the 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift is its redesigned interior, which helps the cabin of the SUV feel a lot more premium and modern than before. The main changes are the two new displays atop the dashboard, measuring 12.3-inches for both the touchscreen infotainment display and digital instrument cluster. A head-up display is also standard across all variants.

In keeping up with the times, the USB charging ports within the cabin have also been replaced with USB-C, although a USB-A data port is still available within the centre console for your Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Other interior highlights include a wireless charging pad in the centre console, three-zone climate control system, 12-way powered driver seat with cushion extension and lumbar support, eight-way powered front passenger seat, and a one-touch folding mechanism for the second-row.

Seat heating and ventilation is also available as standard for the first and second row seats, although the latter is only reserved for the range-topping seven-seater variants; the eight-seater only comes with seat heating for the second-row bench.

Customers can opt between a Black, Burgundy, or Warm Grey (pictured) for their Nappa leather upholstery – the first two options will be paired to “Cloth Look” trims on the interior, while the latter gets a “Layered Wood” effect.

Advanced driver assistance features across all variants

All variants of the new 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift here in Malaysia will come as standard with six airbags, and the Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance system. The ADAS suite includes the following features:

  • Smart Cruise Control with stop and go functionality
  • Blind-spot collision-avoidance assist
  • Rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist
  • Lane keeping and lane following assist
  • autonomous emergency braking with junction support
  • Leading vehicle departure alert
  • Driver attention warning
  • High beam assist
