Following the introduction of the non-hybrid Corolla Cross in Malaysia last year, UMW Toyota has expanded the line-up to now include the Corolla Cross Hybrid, priced at RM136,550.
The Corolla-based crossover is powered by a 1.8-litre engine, paired to an electric motor, for a combined system output of 122 hp. Torque figures were not revealed. Power is delivered to the front wheels, via an e-CVT gearbox.
There’s not much to differentiate the Corolla Cross Hybrid from the standard variant except a few minor details including the headlamps, front and rear badges, which are finished with blue details. Standard features include roof rails, 18-inch wheels and a powered tailgate.
On the inside, among the features exclusive to the Hybrid variant are the floor mats, larger 7-inch multi-information display, dual-zone air conditioning, and a drive mode selector with Sport, Eco, Normal and EV drive modes.
As it is a hybrid, UMW Toyota is offering an 8-year warranty on the batteries, inverter unit, and power management control ECU. As for the vehicle itself, it’ll come with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
