Good news! In announcing its sales performance for the month of October, which saw a 6% increase from September, UMW Toyota Motor also slipped in some additional news.
For those looking to eventually own the locally assembled Toyota Corolla Cross, the company has just announced that all three variants will come with Bi-LED headlamps and LED DRLs as standard. This replaces the incandescent or filament-type headlights and DRLs in the Thailand-sourced 1.8G variant.
A roof rail is now included as standard to add to the sporty and adventurous image.
Both the 1.8V, and the soon-to-be-launched Corolla Cross Hybrid also highlights the fitment of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0). This ADAS suite includes the Pre-collision System (autonomous emergency braking), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Automatic High Beam.
In the announcement, UMW Toyota also highlighted that the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist features have been enhanced to operate at all speed ranges, unlike the earlier version that only activates from 30 km/h.
The 1.8G continues to be equipped with the standard cruise control feature, alongside standard features such as the blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, 3D Panoramic View Monitor, Driver Start Control and a tyre pressure warning system (TPWS).
A front Driving Video Recorder (DVR) is also standard and the new Toyota Corolla Cross variants will also include two Type-C USB charging points for use by the rear passengers.
The Toyota Corolla Cross is powered by a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated engine paired to a CVT gearbox with 139 hp and 172 Nm. The locally assembled 1.8G starts from RM123,000 while the 1.8V starts from RM129,000.
As for the upcoming Corolla Cross Hybrid, UMW Toyota has released an estimated price tag of RM137,000. Stay tuned for more!
Note: The article has been edited after a late correction issued by UMWT regarding the availability of TSS only in the 1.8V and Hybrid variants.
