Toyota reveals special edition Supra to celebrate 35th anniversary

Toyota has unveiled the Supra “35th Anniversary Edition”, with only 70 units available. The BMW Z4-based sportscar is priced between 6.5 million yen for the SZ-R model and 7.8 million yen for the RZ. Toyota will only be producing 35 units of each.

The differences between the standard and the 35th Anniversary Edition are mostly aesthetics. Funnily enough, the unique Lightning Yellow paint job you see here isn’t part of the special edition; to make it exclusive.

No, in fact, it’s a 33,000 yen (RM1,200) option, before tax.

In the SZ-R model, you get red calipers with Supra graphics which you don’t in the standard model, matte black side mirror covers a special matte metallic storm gray paint, and wireless charging. It also comes with a different pedal design and seats wrapped with a mix of Alcantara and leather.

In the RZ, you get all of the above except with the exception of full leather seats; no Alcantara there. Both the special edition Supra models share the same 19-inch wheel design and come with “35th Anniversary” carbon fibre trims on the dashboard.

Locally, the Supra starts from RM589,987 inclusive of SST exemptions. The 3.0-litre turbocharged engine and 8-speed auto combination deliver 340 hp and 500 Nm. 0 to 100 km/h is done in 4.3 seconds with a top speed rated at 250 km/h.
