All-new Hyundai Elantra to arrive in Malaysia by end of 2020, now open for booking

Following the powertrain confirmation earlier today, Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has now announced that the all-new Hyundai Elantra will be launched in Malaysia by the end of 2020, which is just a couple of weeks away! The all-new C-segment sedan is estimated to be priced at “RM1XX,888”.

The seventh-generation Hyundai Elantra will arrive in Malaysia in only a single variant at launch, powered by the 1.6-litre SmartStream MPI engine. Paired to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) gearbox, the naturally-aspirated mill sends 123 hp and 154 Nm of torque to the front wheels.

Equipment wise, the local-spec Hyundai Elantra is fitted as standard with LED projector headlights, LED tail lights as part of its H tail lights design, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Elantra is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with a wireless charging pad for your mobile phone.

A key selling point on the Hyundai Elantra for Malaysia is the addition of Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance systems. The suite includes autonomous emergency braking for forward collisions and rear-cross traffic, Blind-spot Collision Warning with Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Forwarding Assist, Smart Cruise Control with stop and go function, driver attention warning, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

More features will be revealed at launch, but for now, interested customers can place a booking via HSDM’s website here, or at any Hyundai authorised dealerships nationwide with a booking fee of RM777.
