Highly-anticipated Kia Seltos now open for booking in Malaysia

After being sighted at several Kia showrooms, Naza Kia Malaysia has now announced that the long-awaited Kia Seltos is now available for booking at selected showrooms. The handsomely-styled B-segment SUV will be offered locally in two variants – EX and GT Line.

Beyond the announcement, Naza Kia Malaysia did not divulge any further information aside from the colour choices – of which you will have a choice of Glacier White Pearl and Gravity Grey as standard for both variants. Intense Red and Intelligency Blue are variant exclusive colours to the EX and GT Line respectively.

However, based on information shared on several dealers’ own social media pages, we understand that both the EX and GT Line does share a fair amount of standard kit, which includes LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy rims, an 8.0-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, six speaker audio system, flat-bottomed steering wheel, cruise control, self-dimming rear-view mirror, rear air-con vents, stability control and six airbags.

The GT Line, being the highest trim level available here, will of course have a few standout features of its own. On the outside the GT Line will sport Full LED headlights, LED fog lights, glossy black grille with satin chrome and colour accent, front parking sensors, LED rear combination lights and sportier dual-tone alloy rims, also sized at 17-inches in diameter.

Meanwhile on the inside, the GT Line’s also gets a 7.0-inch colour Supervision display multi-info display in the instrument cluster, replacing the EX variant’s 3.5-inch unit, ventilated front seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support, wireless charging pad, heads-up display, and Sound Mood ambient light setup.

Both variants of the Kia Seltos in Malaysia will be powered by a 1.6-Litre Gamma naturally-aspirated MPI four-cylinder engine, offering 123 hp and 151 Nm. The petrol mill will be paired to a six speed automatic gearbox to drive the front wheels.

Naza Kia Malaysia again did not reveal any pricing information for the Kia Seltos just yet, though we should be hearing about it very soon during its imminent launch. If you wish to place your booking, you can do so at the selected showroom found here.

The B-segment SUV market in Malaysia is well and truly heating up, with the addition of the Kia Seltos going up against the likes of crowd favourites Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3. The Hyundai Kona, which will be launched very soon, will also be joining the party alongside the highly-anticipated Proton X50, is due in Q4 this year.
