World’s first iCaur 03 delivered in iCaur PJ – owner No. 1 is renowned car collector JP Chin!

The “world’s first” iCaur 03 delivery took place today at the iCaur Petaling Jaya showroom, with the special milestone vehicle going to none other than JP Chin — businessman and renowned car collector.

Car collector, you say? Oh, absolutely. JP Chin isn’t just any car guy—his garage could give even the Brunei Sultan’s a run for its money. We’re talking a McLaren P1, an original Shelby Cobra, and yes, the jaw-dropping Bugatti Bolide. His collection is so wild that he even has his own museum, the JPM Collection, where you can get up close and personal with these beasts in the metal.

Although the iCaur 03 may seem like a huge departure from his usual “level” of vehicles, its fun, quirky charm was enough to win the car aficionado over. On top of that, the purchase will also serve as a way to promote his new Forest One app — a community-driven payment app with a unique mechanism for generating financial returns — with its logo displayed on the car’s front doors.

Speaking to AutoBuzz.my, Chin shared, “I wanted to create an iCaur community within the app,” with car 001 destined to help promote the iCaur community. All customers who bought a car from iCaur Petaling Jaya will also receive an app membership and automatically become part of the community, he added.

The Petaling Jaya showroom is operated by Karrus Automotive Group, and the iCaur 03 marks the JP Chin’s third car purchase from the Group, following the Lotus Eletre and Lotus Emira.

Launched yesterday, the car is available in two variants: the iCaur 03 2WD and the iCaur 03 iWD, priced from RM119,800 and RM129,800 respectively, on-the-road, without insurance.

The standard rear-wheel drive (2WD) variant is powered by a single electric motor producing 184 hp (135 kW) and 220 Nm of torque — allowing for a 0-100 km/h time of 10.5 seconds and a 150 km/h top speed. Power is supplied by a 65.7 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack providing a range of 426 km (NEDC).

For those seeking more performance, the all-wheel-drive (iWD) variant adds a front motor for a combined 279 hp (205 kW) and 385 Nm. This allows for a 0-100 km/h time of just 6.5 seconds, but maintains the 150 km/h top speed. It is also fitted with a larger 69.8 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a range of 418 km (NEDC).

Both variants support 80 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 30-80% recharge in just 30 minutes, along with 11 kW AC charging for convenient overnight top-ups. They also feature a 3.2 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing drivers to power household appliances—from kettles to coffee machines—directly from the car.
