iCaur V27 RHD debuts in Beijing – REEV, 995 km range, coming to Malaysia soon

The iCaur V27 was previewed at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 as the brand’s latest addition, marking its entry into the larger mid-size SUV space as a range extender electric vehicle (REEV). While the model first debuted late last year, the spotlight this time is on the right-hand drive (RHD) version, making its first physical appearance — a clear sign that RHD markets are set to receive it soon.

Just like many of iCaur’s models, the boxy design does quite well at hiding how big they actually are, and the iCaur V27 is no different. The car measures 5,055 mm long, 1,976 mm wide and 1,894 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. That makes it 825 mm longer than the V23 and parks it alongside mid-sized luxury SUVs such as the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the Volvo XC90

The front end features round daytime running lights housed within a boxy lighting assembly, flanking a partially blocked grille. A radiator sits below to cool the engine, while chunky, squared-off bumpers further emphasise its rugged character. Along the sides, squared wheel arches complement the V27’s boxy proportions, joined by prominent side steps, roof rails, and wheel options ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

At the rear, the design once again feels like an enlarged take on the V23, giving it a silhouette reminiscent of classic Toyota Land Cruisers from yesteryear. While earlier previews showed the V27 with a traditional externally mounted spare wheel, the unit displayed here, in typical iCaur fashion, can also be specified with a square storage box in its place.

Inside, the iCaur V27 carries over a similar design philosophy to the smaller V23, featuring vertical air vents and a tall, upright dashboard layout. In the centre of the dashboard lies a 15.4-inch infotainment display, paired with a slim, letterbox-style digital instrument cluster. The V27 retains a healthy mix of physical controls, featuring more tactile buttons below the screen, finished in brushed aluminium.

Unlike the V23, the centre console is no longer designed with a floating, open-through layout. Instead, it extends fully from the dashboard, incorporating an open storage compartment beneath for loose items. This larger, more conventional console also allows for a new rotary dial for drive mode controls.

Material quality has also taken a step up, with more soft-touch surfaces throughout the cabin. The unit on display featured leather upholstery, reinforcing the V27’s more premium positioning. Overhead, a centre-split glass roof, something like the Bugatti Chiron, adds an extra touch of drama and openness to the interior.

Despite its larger footprint, the iCaur V27 is offered strictly as a five-seater. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to photograph the cabin with all seats upright, as the other display units were locked. Still, the V27 offers 715 litres of boot space, expanding to up to 1,818 litres with the rear seats folded — large enough to double up as a resting space when needed.

The iCaur comes exclusively as an REEV for now, combining electric drive with the reassurance of a combustion engine. A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine acts as a generator, supplying energy to a battery pack of up to 34.31 kWh (based on the variant launched in Saudi Arabia).

Buyers can choose between a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup or a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration with up to 455 hp and 505 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in as little as 5.9 seconds. Despite its size and performance, it boasts a claimed WLTC range of up to 995 km, alongside an electric-only driving range of up to 150 km (NEDC).

Charging wise, the iCaur V27 comes with support for 6.6 kW AC charging and up to 60 kW DC fast charging, the latter allowing a 20-80% top-up in around 30 minutes. The V27 also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality at up to 6.6 kW, allowing for charging external appliances while on the go.

Launched in Saudi Arabia, the iCaur V27 is priced from SAR137,885 (approx. RM146k). For reference, the iCaur 03T (the REEV counterpart to the iCaur 03 sold in Malaysia) starts from SAR133,285 (approx. RM141k). Should it make its way here, the V27 will likely command only a slight premium over the brand’s existing models, which is pretty interesting considering it sits a whole segment above.
