Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has previewed the new Omoda C9 PHEV at the Omoda Jaecoo Carnival, which is taking place this weekend from 21-24 August 2025 at Desa Park City. As its name suggests, the Omoda C9 PHEV is essentially the plug-in hybrid variant of the Omoda C9, which will be priced at an estimated RM220,000 when it is launched by the end of 2025.
Featuring Omoda Jaecoo’s “Super Hybrid System” (SHS), which is similar to the Jaecoo J7 PHEV’s powertrain, the Omoda C9 PHEV sports a 1.5-litre turbocharged straight-four engine and three electric motors, mated to a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
The hybrid powertrain makes a combined output of 605 hp (445 kW) and 915 Nm, which enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds. Equipped with a 34.46 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the Omoda C9 PHEV has a pure EV range of 150 km. Charging is supported with 70 kW DC charging and AC charging at 6.6 kW.
With a full tank and charge, the company claims that the Omoda C9 PHEV has a total range of 1,100 km, with a combined fuel consumption of 1.7L/100km (WLTC).

On the outside, the Omoda C9 PHEV looks virtually identical to its pure ICE sibling, sharing the same futuristic design with the same 20-inch alloy wheels. It’s also equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, and the Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension system from the petrol variant makes an appearance on the Omoda C9 PHEV as well.
The obvious difference is the addition of a charging port on the left side of the SUV, along with an extra “PHEV” emblem on the rear tailgate. The lower lip of the front bumper also has a slightly different design than the petrol Omoda C9.

While Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia did not disclose any interior specifications, other than stating that the C9 PHEV is equipped with heated and ventilated front seats, the interior trimmings does appear to be identical to the petrol Omoda C9, with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display, the former now sporting different graphics with a new energy flow diagram.
On the centre console, it is also equipped with a row of knobs to control the dual-zone climate control. While the middle knob is for selecting drive modes on the petrol Omoda C9, it’s used on the PHEV variant for switching between pure EV and HEV modes.
Set to be priced at an estimated RM220,000, the Omoda C9 PHEV is approximately RM31,200 more expensive than the top-of-the-range Omoda C9 AWD variant, and approximately RM51,200 more expensive than the Omoda C9 2WD variant, when it is launched in Malaysia by the end of 2025.
