At the launch of the XPeng X9 and G6 in Indonesia, Erajaya Active Lifestyle – the marque’s official distributor in the country – announced that it will begin local assembly works (CKD) for the brand’s electric vehicles (EV) in the Archipelago, marking the first country outside of China to do so.
Production of XPeng vehicles will take place at PT Handal Indonesia Motor’s (HIM) manufacturing facility in Cikarang, Jakarta, with operations targeted to begin in the second half of 2025.
Enjaya Active Lifestyle Chief Executive Officer, Djohan Sutanto, stated that the collaboration is part of the company’s commitment to introducing innovative electric vehicles (EVs) that meet the needs of Indonesian consumers.
“The XPeng X9 and G6 are not just electric vehicles, but manifestations of smart mobility that combine efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. We believe XPeng’s presence will deliver a truly new driving experience and serve as a catalyst in accelerating EV adoption in Indonesia” he added.
XPeng General Manager of Southeast Asia Region Business Development, Sam Chu, further emphasised the importance of the Indonesian market in the company’s global expansion strategy. “Indonesia is the first country where XPeng Global will produce locally. This is an important milestone for us.”
The introduction of the locally assembled models also came along with its price unveiling. The XPeng X9 and G6 in Indonesia are priced from IDR1.1 billion (approx. RM285k) and IDR599 million (approx. RM155k) respectively.

Here in Malaysia, both the XPeng X9 and G6 have already made their official debut, and are priced from RM270,708 and RM165,820 on-the-road and without insurance respectively.
The XPeng X9 MPV in Malaysia features a front-mounted motor with 320 hp and 450 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and a 200 km/h top speed. The Standard Range uses an 84.5 kWh LFP battery for a 500 km (WLTP) range, while the Long Range gets a 101.5 kWh that raises its range up to 590 km (WLTP).
The XPeng G6 SUV, meanwhile, comes with a rear-mounted motor producing 255 hp and 440 Nm in the 580 variant, and 282 hp and 440 Nm in the higher-spec 755 variant. 0-100 km/h is achieved in 6.6 and 6.2 seconds respectively, with both sharing a 202 km/h top speed. The 580 variant uses a 66 kWh LFP battery for 435 km of WLTP range, while the 755 packs an 87.5 kWh NMC battery offering 570 km (WLTP).
