2025 Xpeng X9 launched in Malaysia – 3 variants, priced from RM270k

Bermaz Xpeng has launched the 2025 Xpeng X9 fully electric (EV) MPV in Malaysia. Three variants are available, with prices starting at RM270,708 on-the-road, without insurance.

The XPeng X9 measures 5,293 mm long, 1,988 mm wide, and 1,785 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. This makes it longer and wider than the recently launched Denza D9, but also shorter and with a slightly longer wheelbase.

Unlike its fellow EV MPVs, the Xpeng X9 sports a more futuristic exterior design characterised by its steeply raked windshield. Other highlights include the “Robot Face” front design, featuring a hexagon-patterned faux front grille with two outlets housing the sensors for the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

Beffiting of a luxury MPV, the interior of the Xpeng X9 boasts captain chairs, which are called “Aviation Seats”. on the standard and long range 2WD Pro variants with electronic 10-way adjustability.

These two variants have a central walkthrough passage to the third row, whereas the Long Range 2WD Pro Plus variants gain upgraded “Zero Gravity Seats” which can automatically recline to a comfortable lounging position, but with no walkway to the third row, reducing accessibility. Boot space on the Xpeng X9 is rated at 755 litres with the third row seats up and 2,554 litres with the third row seats folded.

Infotainment is provided by a 17.3-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8295 chipset. The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and second row passengers get access to a 21.4-inch touchscreen TV with remote, that can access streaming services like Apple TV and Spotify.

All three variants of the Xpeng X9 are powered by a front-mounted electric motor making 320 hp (235 kW) and 450 Nm of torque. This translates to 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h.

The base Xpeng X9 Standard Range 2WD Pro variant is equipped with an 84.5 kWh battery pack of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, providing a WLTP range of 500 km.

As for the Long Range 2WD Pro and Long Range 2WD Pro Plus variants, it gets a bigger 101.5 kWh battery pack of nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) chemistry, providing a WLTP range of 590 km.

Charging is supported with AC charging at 11 kW for all three variants. The base Standard Range 2WD Pro variant supports DC charging at 283 kW, whereas the Long Range 2WD Pro and Long Range 2WD Pro Plus support a faster DC charging speed at 317 kW. With DC charging, all three variants take 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. The Xpeng X9 also has vehicle-to-load (V2L) at 3.3 kW.

In terms of safety systems, the Xpeng X9 in Malaysia is equipped with six airbags and is equipped with a suite of ADAS features, which is powered by NVIDIA® DRIVE Orin-X processors and consists of three millimetre wave radar units, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 12 cameras. The ADAS features on the Xpeng X9 consist of:

The 2025 Xpeng X9 is priced from RM270,708 on-the-road, without insurance here in Malaysia, and comes with three colour options, Nebula White, Crescent Silver, and Dark Night Black. Customers can also choose two colours for the interior, which are Moon Shadow Brown and Starry Night Black.

Included in the price is a five-year or 120,000 km manufacturer warranty, five-year or 100,000 km free service and maintenance, and an eight-year or 160,000 km high voltage battery pack warranty. Bermaz Xpeng also offers a 7 kW or 11 kW AC wall charger as an optional accessory. Prices are as follows:
