Tan Chong Motor Holdings (TCMH) has announced the commencement of local assembly (CKD) production for the TQ Wuling Bingo EV in Malaysia.
The Wuling Bingo EV will be assembled in collaboration with SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) at the Tan Chong Group manufacturing facility in Segambut, marking the first-ever fully electric vehicle to be produced there. As part of the initial ramp-up phase, TQ Wuling is adopting a phased production approach, with the flexibility to scale up output in line with market demand.
“The commencement of local assembly of the TQ Wuling Bingo EV represents far more than the launch of a single model. It reflects our long-term investment and confidence in Malaysia as a key market and production base,” said TQ Manufacturing, Head of Business, Wan Wei Sun.
“By combining SGMW’s global EV capabilities with Tan Chong’s decades of strong manufacturing heritage, we are building trust through quality, strengthening the local ecosystem, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth in the years ahead,” he added.

Launched in December 2025, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is offered in Malaysia in two variants: TQ Wuling Bingo Pro and TQ Wuling Bingo Max. Prices start from RM67,800 and RM72,800, respectively.
The Wuling Bingo EV measures 3,950 mm long, 1,708 mm wide, and 1,580 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. It’s smaller than the Proton eMAS 5 (stylised as e.MAS 5), although both cars share the same wheelbase.
Inside, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV features a dual-tone interior. It is equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Both variants of the Wuling Bingo EV are powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 68 hp and 150 Nm. The difference lies in the capacity of the battery pack, where the base Pro variant is equipped with a 31.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a range of 333 km (CLTC), whereas the range-topping Max variant features a larger 37.9 kWh LFP battery that extends the range to 410 km (CLTC).
For safety systems, the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is built with 1,500 MPa ultra-high tensile steel and features a suite of passive safety systems. It does not come with ADAS features. Included in the price is a five-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 120,000 km EV battery warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000 km drive motor warranty.
In conjunction with this production milestone, the company is offering the “Bingo’s Fabulous 5 Perk” package worth up to RM12,000 for the first 500 customers of the TQ Wuling Bingo EV.
