C28 Nissan Serena e-Power to launch in Malaysia March 2026 – Full specs revealed, est. RM160k–RM180k

Following the preview of the all-new sixth-generation Nissan Serena e-Power, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has now revealed the full specifications for the MPV. The Serena e-Power is scheduled for a Malaysian launch in March 2026 and carries an estimated sticker price between RM160,000 to RM180,000, as a locally-assembled (CKD) model.

Adopting Nissan’s latest V-Motion Shield design language, the C28 Nissan Serena e-Power resembles the outgoing C27 model but features notable updates, including headlights integrated into the front bumper for a cleaner look. Beyond the sleeker aesthetic, the new front fascia is engineered to improve passenger comfort and reduce motion sickness. This is achieved via two discreet air vents in the front bumper that redirect airflow to enhance vehicle stability and reduce body sway.

At the rear, the iconic two-tiered tailgate is carried over to the C28 model. While it remains visually similar to its predecessor, it features a revised light signature along with a “SERENA” wordmark and an “e-POWER” emblem, the latter of which replacing the outgoing “S-HYBRID” badge, hinting at its updated powertrain.

Standard exterior equipment of the Nissan Serena e-Power includes:

  • Sporty V-Motion front grille with aerodynamic front and rear bumpers
  • Automatic three-eye LED projector headlights with auto levelling and signature daytime running lights (DRLs)
  • LED front and rear fog lamps
  • Boomerang LED rear combination tailights
  • Auto-folding and power-adjustable side mirrors with LED turn signals
  • Acoustic front windscreen
  • Hands-free dual power sliding doors
  • 16-inch alloy wheels
  • Dual-back door tailgate

The Serena e-Power is configured as a seven-seater in a 2+2+3 layout inside. It features Zero Gravity captain seats in the first and second rows. These seats complement the Serena e-Power’s stable ride by providing the specific postural support necessary to further minimise fatigue and motion sickness for its occupants.

To access the third row, the second-row seats can be slid laterally or moved forward as part of the MPV’s easy access mode. Unlike some MPVs where third-row passengers rely on those in the middle to operate the doors, the Serena e-Power features a dedicated switch to control the sliding doors from the third-row. Additionally, a foot-operated lever on the second-row seatback allows those in the rear to slide the middle seats forward independently.

There’s also 26 storage points in the interior, including a variety of cup holders and bottle holders throughout the cabin. For added versatility, the interior can be adjusted into 13 different seating configurations to suit varying passenger and cargo needs. Adding a touch of personality to the practical cabin, Nissan has also hidden seven easter eggs throughout the interior that owners can discover as they explore the vehicle’s many compartments.

On the tech front, the Nissan Serena e-Power features a 12.3-inch centre infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supplemented by a driver’s 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Other interior features of the Nissan Serena e-Power include:

  • Zero gravity-inspired front and second row seats
  • Combination black Nappa leather upholstery
  • One-touch power windows for all doors
  • Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
  • Multi-function steering wheel
  • Tray tables for second row seats
  • Six USB ports
  • Wireless charging pad
  • 12.3-inch TFT digital gauge cluster
  • 12.3-inch centre infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 14-inch roof-mounted rear entertainment display for second and third row passengers
  • Three drive modes (Standard, Eco, Sport)
  • e-Pedal step (One-pedal driving mode)

Underneath the bonnet, the Nissan Serena e-Power features the second-generation e-Power series hybrid system. This comprises a 1.4-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder engine producing 98 hp and 123 Nm, a battery pack, a generator motor, and a traction motor.

The engine serves solely as a generator to charge the 1.77 kWh onboard battery, which in turn powers the wheels via the traction motor. This motor delivers 163 hp and 315 Nm directly to the front wheels. Altogether, Nissan claims this setup achieves a fuel consumption of 18.5 km/L (NEDC), which translates to a total driving range of up to 1,000 km on a full tank of petrol.

On the safety front, the Nissan Serena e-Power is equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot suite of ADAS features. These features include:

  • Autonomous emergency braking (AEB)
  • Forward collision warning (FCW)
  • Blind spot monitors (BSM)
  • Lane departure warning (LDW)
  • Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
  • High beam assist (HBA)
  • 360-degree surround view monitor with Moving Object Detection (MOD)
  • Intelligent cruise control (ICC)
  • Intelligent lane intervention (ILI)

The Nissan Serena e-Power in Malaysia will be available in four exterior colours. These include a monotone Diamond Black and three two-tone paint options—Turquoise Blue, Brilliant White, and Dark Metal Grey—each featuring a contrasting black roof.

The all-new Nissan Serena e-Power is slated for a March 2026 launch in Malaysia with an estimated price from RM160,000 to RM180,000. The price includes a five-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty, alongside an eight-year or 160,000 km e-Power components warranty covering the lithium-ion battery, inverter, electric motor, and control unit.
