Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has launched the all-new sixth-generation (C28) Nissan Serena e-Power in Malaysia. The MPV is locally-assembled (CKD) and is available in five variants, priced from RM154,800, on-the-road, without insurance.
- Nissan Serena e-Power X – RM154,800
- Nissan Serena e-Power X Plus – RM159,800
- Nissan Serena e-Power Highway Star – RM169,800
- Nissan Serena e-Power Premium Highway Star – RM174,800
- Nissan Serena e-Power Shiro Premium Highway Star – RM179,800
Adopting Nissan’s latest V-Motion Shield design language, the C28 Nissan Serena e-Power maintains a similar silhouette to the outgoing C27 generation. The new model measures 4,765 mm in length, 1,715 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. Compared to the previous C27, the C28 is 5 mm shorter and 25 mm narrower, though it stands 5 mm taller and features a wheelbase that has been extended by 10 mm.
The C28 model retains the signature two-tiered tailgate from the previous generation. While the rear design remains familiar, it incorporates a revised light signature, a “SERENA” wordmark, and an “e-POWER” emblem. This new badge replaces the “S-HYBRID” branding found on the C27, reflecting the updated powertrain.

Standard exterior equipment of the Nissan Serena e-Power X includes:
- 16-inch alloy wheels
- V-Motion front grille
- Three-eye LED projector headlights with auto levelling and LED signature lights with welcome light
- Boomerang LED rear combination tailights

The Nissan Serena e-Power’s interior is configured as a seven-seater in a 2+2+3 layout. It features Zero Gravity captain seats in the first and second rows, which offer specific postural support to minimise fatigue and motion sickness for passengers. These seven seats can be configured into 13 different seating arrangements to accommodate various passenger and cargo needs. This is further enhanced by 26 storage points and 15 cupholders throughout the interior, which contain seven hidden easter eggs.
To access the third row, the second-row seats can be slid laterally or moved forward as part of the MPV’s easy access mode. Unlike some MPVs where third-row passengers rely on those in the middle to operate the doors, the Serena e-Power features a dedicated switch to control the sliding doors from the third row. Additionally, a foot-operated lever on the second-row seatback allows those in the rear to slide the middle seats forward independently.
Infotainment is provided by a 12.3-inch centre infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supplemented by a roof-mounted 14-inch entertainment monitor for rear passengers on the X Plus, Premium Highway Star, and Shiro Highway Star (motorised) variants. The driver is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Underneath the bonnet, the Nissan Serena e-Power features the second-generation e-Power series hybrid system. This comprises a 1.4-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder engine producing 98 hp and 123 Nm, a battery pack, a generator motor, and a traction motor.
The engine serves solely as a generator to charge the 1.77 kWh onboard battery, which in turn powers the wheels via the traction motor. This motor delivers 163 hp and 315 Nm directly to the front wheels.
