Video: iCaur V23 now in Malaysia from RM120k – Retro-inspired looks and EV off-road chops!

iCaur Malaysia has launched the iCaur V23 in Malaysia with a starting price of RM119,800 on the road and without insurance. Offered in two variants, it serves as the more retro-futuristic and hardier sibling to the iCaur 03.

Visually, the iCaur V23 adopts a rugged design with short overhangs and squared-off wheel arches, sitting on 21-inch wheels. The front fascia pays homage to classic off-roaders, featuring rounded headlights paired with a protruding front bumper. At the rear, vintage-inspired LED taillights are complemented by a square storage box in place of a traditional spare tyre, which instead houses the vehicle’s electric charging cables.

Inside, the retro-futuristic theme continues with its centre 15.4-inch infotainment screen mounted atop a set of boxy air vents and rotary knobs finished in a metallic texture. The centre screen supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and acts as the centre of all driving information — just like a Tesla

Notable interior equipment includes a multi-function steering wheel, faux leather upholstery, power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, and an open concept centre console with storage spaces and a wireless phone charger.

The iCaur V23 is available with two powertrain options. The lineup begins with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant featuring a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 136 hp and 180 Nm of torque. This enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 11 seconds and a top speed of 140 km/h. Power is supplied by a 59.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering up to 360 km of range under the NEDC cycle.

Stepping up is the intelligent-wheel-drive (iWD) variant, which adds a front-mounted electric motor to drive all four wheels. Total system output is 211 hp and 292 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds while retaining the same top speed. A larger 81.8 kWh battery increases range to up to 430 km under the same test cycle.

To charge it up, the 2WD variant supports up to 85 kW of DC fast charging, while the iWD variant allows up to 104 kW. Both variants support up to 6.6 kW AC charging and also offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) to power small home appliances on the go.
