The Toyota GR Yaris is already a potent pocket rocket. Its 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine produces 304 hp and 400 Nm, sending it to all four wheels for a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.2 seconds. But it seems Toyota thinks they can make the hot hatch even angrier with the introduction of a new “Aero Performance Package”, which six aerodynamic appendages all designed to increase the hot hatch’s performance even further.
Toyota says that these six items incorporate insights gained from motorsport events such as the Super Taikyu Series and Japanese Rally Championship, and will be available at Toyota dealers in Japan starting 1st October, 2025, for the RZ High-performance and RC variants of the GR Yaris.
The first of these six items is a ducted aluminium bonnet to help with engine cooling. It shares the same shape as the carbon-fibre bonnet from the limited-edition GRMN Yaris, and was developed through real-world testing in the Japanese Rally Championship.
Up next is a front lip spoiler, said to improve both the grip and aerodynamics of the GR Yaris. Interestingly, this part wasn’t originally included in the package. Toyota added it after professional race driver Kazuya Oshima provided feedback, stating that the car needed a “higher level of balance.”

Also included are a set of fender ducts, which improve steering feel and handling stability when cornering, and an under-body cover for the fuel tank, designed to smooth out airflow underneath the car for better aerodynamics.
The package also includes a new variable rear spoiler. It’s designed to improve high-speed stability and reduce swaying during hard braking. Drivers can manually change the spoiler’s angle, optimising it for a track day or setting it for comfort when they daily their GR Yaris.

Finally, the sixth item in the Aero Performance Package is a set of rear bumper ducts. These are designed to reduce drag by allowing air to pass cleanly through the bumper instead of getting trapped behind it.
Like all other parts in the package, this was also designed to solve a rather dramatic problem discovered during motorsport development. Toyota added the ducts to prevent a repeat of an incident in the Super Taikyu Series, where the extreme aerodynamic loads at high speed actually caused a GR Yaris’s rear bumper to completely detach from the car.
So, how much will these six special goodies set you back? The automatic Toyota Yaris RZ High Performance equipped with the new Aero Performance Package comes in at JPY5.825 million (approx. RM165k), while the six-speed manual variant comes in at JPY5.475 million (approx. RM155k), which means the aero package itself is priced at JPY495,000 (approx. RM14k).
A more affordable option is also available in Japan, in the form of the RC variant with only the aero package. This version costs JPY4.405 million (approx. RM125k) for the automatic and JPY4.055 million (approx. RM115k) for the manual.
