2025 Volvo XC60 facelift now open for booking in Malaysia – from est. RM334k

New Volvo XC60

Volvo Car Malaysia has opened the order books for the new 2025 Volvo XC60 facelift, with two locally assembled variants on offer as before: the B5 all-wheel drive (AWD) mild hybrid, and the T8 AWD plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Prices start at an estimated RM333,888 and RM367,888 – both are slightly increased from their pre-facelift counterparts, based on the latter’s last published prices.

Launched globally in February, the brand’s best-selling SUV adopts many cosmetic upgrades from its bigger sibling, the Volvo XC90.

On the outside, the most obvious change can be seen on the front grille, which now sports a new diagonal mesh. The car also sports new updated Thor’s hammer headlights, new rim designs, and will be available in two new colours, Forest Lake and Denim Blue, in addition to the usual Onyx Black and Crystal White colours.

Standard exterior equipment on the 2025 Volvo XC60 facelift include 19-inch five-double spoke wheels, high-gloss black trims on the door mirrors, window trims, roof rails, and grille, and LED lights with a smoked-out effect at the rear.

While the outside sees a mild update, the biggest change comes from the interior, which closely resembles the updates of the bigger XC90. The nine-inch touchscreen in the outgoing model year is now replaced with a tablet-sized 11.2-inch touchscreen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit chipset. This system will also run on the brand’s latest Google Built-In infotainment user interface, first appearing in the Volvo EX30.

Notable standard interior features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, 360-degree camera, Mesh aluminium trims, and Quilted Nardico upholstery. Upgrading to the T8 AWD PHEV variant, you get a Crystal gear shift, a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and Natural Driftwood trims for an enhanced ambience.

Along with these updates, the facelifted 2025 Volvo XC60 will be coming with Volvo’s air suspension system for added comfort – although it’s only available on the range-topping T8 AWD PHEV variant, and only for a limited time, Volvo Car Malaysia confirms.

Powertrain remains largely unchanged on both variants. The base Volvo B5 AWD mild hybrid variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, that is supported by a 48-volt battery and integrated starter generator. This allows for a total system output of 263 hp and 390 Nm, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The Volvo T8 AWD PHEV variant, meanwhile, pairs the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a rear electric motor for a combined output of 462 hp and 709 Nm, which translates to a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds.

The electric-only driving range on the PHEV has gone up slightly to 89 km (WLTP), courtesy of a slightly larger battery pack at 19 kWh. Top speed is capped at a Volvo-standard 180 km/h, and both variants feature an eight-speed automatic gearbox driving all four wheels.

On the safety front, all variants of the facelifted Volvo XC60 will come equipped with Volvo’s latest intelligent safety technologies. This includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision avoidance — continuing to offer high standards of safety to their customers.

The new 2025 Volvo XC60 comes with a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty as standard, with the PHEV variant also getting an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
