Seen quite a number of the MG Cyberster on the roads? Well, that’s because Malaysia is actually the best-selling market for the electric roadster in the Asia and Oceania region!
The MG Cyberster made its debut in Malaysia in December 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2024), and has since achieved over 90 orders for the electric sports car. Not only has it found sales success in Malaysia, the Cyberster also boasts an impressive array of prestigious international awards, such as the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and the iF Design Award.
The achievement comes after the recent introduction of the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant of the Cyberster in Malaysia, priced at RM299,990, joining the all-wheel drive (AWD) variant at RM319,900. As its name suggests, the RWD MG Cyberster is powered by a single, rear-mounted electric motor that produces 340 hp (250 kW) and 475 Nm of torque. This enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.0 seconds.
The AWD variant, which is roughly RM20k dearer, adds an electric motor to the front axle. This bumps the combined output to 544 hp and 725 Nm, shortening the century sprint to just 3.2 seconds.

Both variants are equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack. This provides a range of 508 km (WLTP) for the RWD variant and 446 km (WLTP) for the AWD variant. Charging capabilities are also shared, with support for 7 kW AC charging and up to 144 kW DC fast charging, which enables a 10-80% top-up in 38 minutes.
Exterior-wise, both variants are nearly identical to one another, with the main difference being that the RWD variant is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the AWD variant features larger 20-inch wheels.
The interior of the two variants is also shared, as both are equipped with a central wraparound digital display. This setup includes a 10.25-inch central driver’s display flanked by two seven-inch screens for infotainment and vehicle control functions.
Celebrating the achievement, MG Motor Malaysia will be hosting special test drive events at selected locations nationwide. During the event, customers who place a booking for an MG Cyberster will receive a complimentary one-year unlimited charging package with JomCharge, inclusive of AutoCharge functionality, a 7kW wallbox AC Charger (excluding installation), a limited-edition MG Cyberster diecast model and other exclusive giveaways.
