TQ Wuling Bingo EV goes on tour in Malaysia ahead of Q4 launch

Ahead of its official launch later this year, the TQ Wuling Bingo electric vehicle (EV) will be going on a nationwide tour starting in July, where customers can get up close and personal with the compact electric hatchback.

As announced earlier in May, TQ Wuling, through the joint venture between Tan Chong Motor Holdings (TCMH) and SAIC GM Wuling Automobile (SGM Wuling), will focus on delivering affordable vehicles to the Malaysian market, starting with the debut with the TQ Wuling Bingo EV — a locally assembled compact electric hatchback estimated to be priced below RM100,000.

The car will be displayed at six locations which include:

  • Ping Min PJ (4th to 6th July, from 12pm to10pm)
  • Finch Bazaar (10th to 13th July, from 10am to 10pm)
  • Ping Min Hub KL (18th to 20th July, from 5pm to 12am)
  • IOI City Mall Putrajaya (23rd to 27th July, from 10am to 10pm)
  • Sutera Mall (8th to 10th August, from 10.30am to 10.30pm)
  • Queensbay Mall (14th to 17th August, from 10.30am to 10.30pm)

Aside from experiencing the cars firsthand, the preview events will also feature exclusive giveaways and live performances at selected locations.

The TQ Wuling Bingo EV measures at 3,950 mm long, 1,708 mm wide, and 1,580 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm, similar in size to cars like the Perodua Axia

In Indonesia, where the car has been launched, the TQ Wuling Bingo is available in two variants — both powered by a single front-mounted motor producing 68 hp. The car can be had with either a 31.9 kWh battery with a 333 km (CLTC) range or a 37.9 kWh battery with a 410 km (CLTC) range.

No detailed information is available for Malaysia yet, but the company revealed that the Bingo with the smaller battery can charge from 20% to 100% using AC charging in 5.5 hours.

TQ Manufacturing Head of Business, Wan Wei Sun, said, “We had an overwhelming response to the TQ Wuling Bingo EV at the Malaysia Autoshow, and now we’re bringing that excitement directly to Malaysians nationwide. That’s the spirit driving the #HelloTQWBingo Tour — giving people a chance to experience the car first-hand and understand why this model matters in making EVs more accessible to more Malaysians.”

“The Bingo EV brings together the best of both worlds — TCMH’s local distribution and assembly excellence of over 70 years and SGM Wuling’s innovation in proven accessible EV technologies. We invite everyone to see what makes this model such an exciting, affordable, and relevant choice for urban drivers,” he added.
