Following its preview at the Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this year, GAC Aion will soon be bringing the UT to the Thailand, where it will compete against the BYD Dolphin. The sub-compact electric vehicle (EV) hatchback is now open for booking in the Land of Smiles, ahead of the car’s eventual launch on the 24th of June.
Based on preliminary details from GAC Aion Thailand, as reported by One2Car, the Aion UT will be offered in two variants in the Kingdom—Standard and Premium.
Prices are estimated to start from THB510,000 (approx. RM66k) for the Standard while the Premium starts from THB660,000 (approx. RM86k). For now, the Thai GAC Aion website is still offering the UT with a limited-time pre-order promotional price of THB490,000 (approx. RM64k).
The Aion UT measures at 4270 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and 1575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2750 mm—making it similar in size to the BYD Dolphin. It features a pebble-like silhouette and overall follows a smooth and cute design approach with a playful touch.
The Aion UT comes standard with 16-inch wheels while the Premium variant is upgraded to 17-inches in diameter, and it’ll also come in a choice of four exterior colours: Emerald Green, Champion Beige, Rocco White, and Seline Silver.

The interior of the Aion UT shares a similar layout with the Aion Y Plus currently available in Malaysia, with everything centred around the massive 14.6-inch infotainment display in the centre, which supports Apple CarPlay as standard.
In Thailand, a six-speaker sound system comes as standard, alongside other interior features include ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, automatic air conditioning system with PM 2.5 filter, adaptive cruise control, and 360 surround view camera.
The premium variant adds on with a six-way electronically adjustable driver seat and a four-way electronically adjustable front passenger seat. It also has an electronically operated tailgate hatch with luggage compartment lighting, wireless phone charger, and auto dimming rearview mirror.
The Aion UT is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, delivering 136 hp and 145 Nm. It features a 50 kWh battery that offers up to 400 km of range (NEDC), with a 0-100 km/h time of 12 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.
The Premium variant is also powered by a single front-mounted electric motor, but with more grunt at 204 hp and 210 Nm. It’ll also come with a bigger 60 kWh battery that enables a range of up to 500 km (NEDC), with a 0-100 km/h time of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.
As for safety, the Aion UT comes standard with Adaptive cruise control system, six airbags, and ADiGO Autonomous Driving Assistance System—the latter offering level two semi-autonomous driving capabilities.
In Thailand, the Aion UT’s closest competitor, the BYD Dolphin, starts from THB569,900 (approx. RM74k) to THB709,900 (approx. RM93k), making it pricier than the Aion UT.
Back home. there’s currently no word on whether the GAC Aion UT will be coming to Malaysia. The carmaker currently offers both the Aion Y Plus and Aion ES locally, priced from RM119,800 and RM106,800 respectively. Additionally, the much-anticipated Hyptec HT—previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025—is also expected to launch here soon.
