National carmaker Proton has announced in its latest sales update that the Proton X70, in its pre-facelift guise, has been reintroduced in Bangladesh as a locally assembled (CKD) model. According to reports by AutoDrive, the brand is now managed by Rancon, with production taking place at Rancon Auto Industries’ factory in Dhaka, within the Rancon Industrial Park.
Previously, the SUV was available in Bangladesh as a fully imported (CBU) model managed by PHP Motors. A quick check of their corporate website reveals that PHP Motors is now selling Perodua models in Bangladesh.
The CKD Proton X70 is available in one variant in Bangladesh, priced at BDT3.85 million (approx. RM134k). This is a significant decrease from the CBU X70’s price range of BDT4.4 million to BDT4.8 million (approx. RM153k to RM167k), where two variants were offered.
Powering the Proton X70 in Bangladesh is a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 177 hp and 255 Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) that drives the front wheels. This powertrain configuration mirrors the facelifted Proton X70 currently sold in Malaysia.
Standard equipment on the Bangladesh-spec Proton X70 includes 19-inch alloy wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected services (online navigation, music streaming, weather updates), Hi-Proton voice control functionality, and selectable drive modes.

Customers in Bangladesh can choose their Proton X70 in four colour options: Jet Grey, Ruby Red, Cinnamon Brown, and Space Grey. The vehicle also comes with a five-year or 150,000 km warranty.
