2025 Proton X70 launched, from RM99k – Android Auto & Apple CarPlay to be ready soon


Following its preview in early August, Proton has announced the official pricing information for the Proton X70 facelift, which will retail from RM98,800 on-the-road, without insurance. It is about RM4,900 more than the 2022 Proton X70 MC. A total of 4 variants will be offered on the new 2025 Proton X70 facelift, with pricing as follows:

  • Proton X70 Standard – RM98,800
  • Proton X70 Executive – RM110,800
  • Proton X70 Premium – RM123,800
  • Proton X70 Premium X – RM126,800

The Proton X70 facelift comes with a redesigned front fascia, taken from the Geely Boyue Pro, but with a Proton touch. The new model features a larger grille with a distinct diamond pattern, inspired from traditional songket weaving. Updated headlights and alloy wheel designs further enhance the SUV’s visual appeal.

Standard exterior items on the entry-level Proton X70 Standard are the following:

  • LED headlights with DRLs
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Walk-away auto lock (NEW)
  • Snow White colour
  • Armour Silver colour

The Executive variant adds:

  • 18-inch alloy wheels (NEW)
  • Auto rain-sensing wipers
  • Powered tailgate
  • Jet Grey colour

The Premium and Premium X variant adds:

  • 19-inch alloy wheels (NEW)
  • Ruby Red colour
  • Marine Blue colour (NEW)

The Proton X70 now comes with a 1.5-litre TGDI engine, with the 1.8-litre TGDI bidding farewell. According to Proton, the engine and the transmission have been refined and tuned to provide better combustion efficiency, improved NVH at low speeds, better thermal management, reduced friction, and better fuel economy. The new X70 has a fuel consumption rate of 7.3 l/100km which is a 4% reduction from the 2022 Proton X70.

As for the interior, the X70 revamps its outgoing dashboard with a revised middle trim, ambient lighting, as well as a new 12.3-inch floating head unit that now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster has also been updated alongside the new steering wheel and door trims.

To recap, the 2025 Proton X70 has been launched in Malaysia and is priced from RM98,800 on the road, without insurance. Fully packed with safety features, the X70 also comes with a 5-year/unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty, a 5-year data package (1GB/month), and 6 times free labour service.
