The Neta V has received a zero-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries). Tested under the programme’s latest 2021-2025 protocol, it achieved an overall weighted score of 28.55/100 points.
The Neta V is the first electric vehicle (EV) to be tested under the stricter assessment criteria, although its zero-star rating is the first of all vehicles tested thus far in the 2021-2025 protocol, no matter its propulsion.
The overall score is broken down to 6.31 points (out of 32 maximum) for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 34.46 points (max 51) for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 7.50 points (max 21) for Safety Assist (SA), and zero points (max 16) for Motorcyclist Safety.
Crucially, the adult occupant protection scores were only contributed by the side impact test. The compact electric crossover scored zero points for the frontal offset test, which ASEAN NCAP attributes to “weak body structure” and a “compromised restraint system”, noting that the seatbelts for the front passengers lack any retractor pre-tensioner and load limiter systems.
Similarly, the lack of advanced safety features on the Neta V, including blind-spot detection and autonomous emergency braking, also resulted in zero points in the Motorcyclist Safety portion of the test, and only 7.50 points out of a maximum 21 in the Safety Assist category.
When reached out for comment, an Intro Synergy spokesperson said that the results are still being investigated by the carmaker.
The Neta V comes as standard only with passive safety equipment including two airbags, automatic brake hold, hill start assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, passive cruise control, and your usual array of electronics including ABS, traction control, and ESC.
Powering the Neta V is a single front-mounted electric motor producing 95 hp and 150 Nm. Equipped with a 38.5 kWh battery pack, the Neta V has a claimed NEDC-rated range of 380 km.

The Neta V supports a maximum AC charging rate of 6.6 kW and a maximum DC charging rate of 100 kW. The former takes eight hours to fully charge the battery from flat while the latter takes 30 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%.
The Neta V is priced at RM100,000 on-the-road, without insurance. Included in the price is a five-year/150,000 km general warranty, an eight-year/180,000 km high voltage battery warranty, and a 10-year/200,000 km body warranty.
