Diesel getting too expensive? We’ve certainly been hearing that a lot these days, especially with the rationalisation of diesel subsidies here in Malaysia. But Kia Malaysia, through its distributor Dinamikjaya Motors, wants to help with its new Fuel-On-Us campaign by offering five years of diesel fuel subsidies for anyone who buys a new Kia Carnival – Specifically, a RM1.05 subsidy for every litre of diesel, regardless of the weekly fuel price!
The campaign will run from now until December 31, 2024, and is open to all variants of the Kia Carnival registered during the campaign period, at any authorised Kia dealerships nationwide. Each purchase is entitled to one application submission.
The Kia Carnival was last updated here in Malaysia earlier this year, bringing along some additional goodies on the inside. What remains unchanged though is the trusty 2.2-litre inline-four turbodiesel mill that makes 199 hp and 440 Nm, with powered transferred to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The turbodiesel engine on the Kia Carnival is rated for a fuel consumption rating of 6.5 litres/100 km, which the company says is “around 35% more efficient” than the average 2.5-litre engine. With a 72 litre fuel tank, the Kia Carnival is capable of travelling up to 850 km in a single tank of fuel.
