2024 Hyundai Santa Fe (CKD) launched in Malaysia, from RM196k


Open for booking since last year, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has finally launched the facelifted 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe (CKD). It is assembled at the Inokom Plant in Kulim, Kedah. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in three variants, namely the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Plus, the 2.2L Turbo Diesel Max, and the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Max with a price tag ranging from RM195,888 to RM215,888, on-the-road, without insurance. Included in the price is a 5-year/300,000 km manufacturer warranty.

Sime Darby Motors Southeast Asia Managing Director, Jeffrey Gan stated, “The Santa Fe has long been a cornerstone of Hyundai’s SUV line-up, consistently meeting the needs of Malaysian families. Power-wise, both the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid variants get a combination of a 1.6-litre T-GDI petrol engine developing 180 hp (metric) and 265 Nm of torque, and a 44.2 kW electric motor, giving a total system output of 230 hp (metric) and 350 Nm of torque. Power goes to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.2L Turbo Diesel Max variant is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine that produces 202 hp (metric) and 440 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

All variants are equipped with the eco, normal, sport, and smart driving mode. Exclusive to the 2.2L Diesel variant is Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that adds snow, mud and sand. Hyundai’s Terrain Mode (drive mode) selector which includes sand, mud, and snow alongside

Appearance-wise, all variants are similarly equipped with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and LED taillights. Depending on the variants, the Santa Fe also comes with a powered tailgate, 20-inch alloy wheels (19-inch for the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Plus), and a panoramic roof. It is available in four exterior colours: Phantom Black, Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Grey, and Stormy Sea.

On the inside, the high centre console is new and now sits on a sloping angle. It now features a button-type gear selector instead of the traditional gear selector. The facelifted Hyundai Santa Fe comes with leather upholstery (fabric upholstery for the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Plus), a 10.25-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity, and dual-zone climate control.

All variants of the facelifted Hyundai Santa Fe come equipped with Hyundai’s SmartSense safety suite offering features such as Smart Cruise Control with stop & go function (SCC), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA). All variants come standard with a 360-degree view camera and a blind-spot monitor.

To recap, the facelifted Hyundai Santa Fe in three variants, namely the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Plus, the 2.2L Turbo Diesel Max, and the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid Max with a price tag ranging from RM195,888 to RM215,888, on-the-road, without insurance. Included in the price is a 5-year/300,000 km manufacturer warranty. For the first 100 bookings, the CKD Hyundai Santa Fe will come with a RM10,000 discount.
