Together with the launch of the entry-level BYD Seal Dynamic, Sime Darby Beyond Auto has also reintroduced the BYD Atto 3 Extended Range to the 2024 model. Replacing the “Standard Range 2024 model”, the new “enhanced” BYD fetches the same price of RM149,800.
Among the “enhanced” features of the Enhanced 2024 BYD Atto 3 (in comparison to the Standard Range 2024 model) are:
- 480 km NEDC EV range (compared to 410 km)
- 60.48 kWh battery (compared to 49.92 kWh battery)
- 7.3s 0-100 km/h acceleration time (compared to 7.9 s)
- Larger 18-inch wheels
- 88 kW maximum DC charging rate
- One touch open/close tailgate
- 8-speaker sound system (compared to 6-speaker system)
- New PM2.6 air filter
- Multi-colour ambient lighting with music rhythm
Similarly equipped with the 2024 Standard Range model, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range adds a bigger 60.48 kWh battery (which was previously available with the 2023 model). This means that the Atto 3 now returns with a 480 km (NEDC) or 420 km (WLTP) range.
Charging the BYD Atto3 Extended Range can be done at a maximum AC charging rate of 7 kW (Single phase) and a maximum DC charging rate of 88 kW. As for its performance, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range gets a single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD) setup that makes 201 hp (metric) and 310 Nm. This allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.
On the outside, some cosmetic enhancements can be seen on the 2024 Extended Range model (just like the outgoing Standard Range model). The D-pillar trim is now in black, the “Build Your Dreams” lettering has been replaced by a simple “BYD” emblem, and a new Cosmos Black exterior colour option is now available.
Like the Standard Range variant, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 comes with a new 15.6-inch screen (as opposed to the older 12.8-inch screen) and a new optional black & blue two-tone interior colour scheme. All else, the the 2024 BYD Atto 3’s cabin is one that we have become familiar with.
Safety equipment on the 2024 BYD Atto 3 have also been carried over from the 2023 version. It still comes equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Front Collision Warning (FCW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).
