BYD has launched the 2025 BYD Seal facelift in China, featuring cutting-edge SiC (Silicon Carbide) technology and an 800 V high-voltage architecture. The sedan now includes a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, a first for BYD sedans, which enhances its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) functions.
The Seal is offered in 4 variants namely 510 Standard Edition, 650 Long Range Edition, 650 Intelligent Driving Edition, and 600 Four-Wheel Drive Intelligent Driving Edition. It is priced from 175,800 Yuan (approx. RM109,388) to 239,800 Yuan (approx. RM149,153).

Exterior-wise, the Seal introduces subtle design changes, including a new Sky Purple exterior color option, a new luminous BYD logo, and new rims. The front fascia showcases a sleek profile with slim headlights, a distinctive air intake, and a sloping hood. The vehicle’s sides feature traditional door mirrors and pop-out handles, while the rear retains the signature single taillight unit.
The dimensions of the BYD Seal remain unchanged at 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, and 1,460 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The facelifted Seal is built on BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0 architecture, supporting a new high-voltage 800 V architecture for faster charging and power delivery. It is capable of a 10%-80% charge in just 25 minutes. The platform also incorporates a 12-in-1 electric drive system for optimized efficiency and performance.

The entry-level model features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 228 hp (metric), while a more powerful variant offers 308 hp (metric). For enhanced performance, the top-of-the-line Seal has an all-wheel drive (AWD) system delivering a combined output of 523 hp (metric). Battery options include two capacities: 61.44 kWh and 80.64 kWh, providing estimated ranges of up to 510 km and 650 km respectively under the CLTC standard.
Interior-wise, the facelifted Seal features a revised dashboard that adopts a new flat panel design and the new Coral Orange colour scheme. It has a distinctive four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and BYD’s iconic large central floating control screen, which can conveniently rotate. The interior includes a minimalist center console with physical buttons, hidden air-conditioning outlets, wireless charging pads, and a head-up display.

Safety-wise, the facelifted Seal gets the DiPilot advanced driver safety assistance systems (ADAS) suite. Among the features thrown in consist of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic emergency braking system (AEB), Lane Detection Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention System (LDP), and Emergency Lane Keeping System (ELKA).
The facelifted Seal now includes a LiDAR sensor that enhances its ADAS functions. This addition significantly improves the vehicle’s autonomous driving capabilities, integrating with the Level 2+ DiPilot system. This system includes high-speed and urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and Automated Valet Parking (AVP) features.
In Malaysia, the current BYD Seal comes with 2 variants namely Premium and Performance. It comes with a price tag from RM179,800 to RM199,800.
