BYD Sime Motors has launched the new BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia. Two variants are available, with prices starting from RM126,600, on-the-road, without insurance.

Unlike the outgoing model, the new BYD Atto 3 features a refreshed exterior. The update introduces a redesigned front bumper and headlights, completely eliminating the large faux air intakes found on the previous crossover. At the rear, the styling closely resembles its predecessor, though minor updates introduce a revised rear bumper paired with a more prominent rear diffuser.
Standard exterior equipment of the BYD Atto 3 includes:

Inside, the new BYD Atto 3 still retains the funky, gym-inspired interior design from the outgoing model, though there are some notable changes. The centre console has been thoroughly revised, with the crossover gaining a column-mounted gear shift lever, while the quirky cabin upholstery has been replaced with an all-black scheme.
Boot space on the new BYD Atto 3 is rated at a maximum luggage capacity of 1,340 litres with the rear seats folded down. The Premium variant increases this rear cargo capacity to 1,360 litres, and it comes quipped with a frunk that provides an additional 101 litres of storage under the bonnet.

Stepping up to the Premium variant of the Atto 3 adds the following interior equipment:
- Six-way power adjustable driver seat with four-way lumbar support
- Six-way power adjustable front passenger seat
- Automatic dual-zone climate control
The new BYD Atto 3 is available in two powertrains. The Ultra variant is equipped with a front-mounted traction motor that produces 204 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Paired with a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade Battery, the Ultra variant has a range of 420 km (WLTP, 480 km NEDC).
The Premium variant upgrades to a rear-mounted traction motor that produces 313 hp (230 kW) and 380 Nm, shortening the century sprint to 5.5 seconds. Equipped with a larger 74.88 kWh battery, the Premium variant has a range of 510 km (WLTP, 600 km NEDC).
For comparison’s sake, the new BYD Atto 3 Ultra variant sees no specification changes from its predecessor. The new Premium variant, however, gains an extra 109 hp and 70 Nm of torque over the previous model, alongside an increased driving range.
For charging, the Ultra variant supports AC charging at 7 kW and DC charging at 110 kW. The Premium variant increases this to 11 kW AC charging and DC charging at 220 kW. Both variants also feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability at 3.3 kW to power external appliances.
For safety systems, the BYD Atto 3 is equipped with six airbags for the Ultra variant, with the Premium variant equipped with seven airbags. Both variants are equipped with a suite of ADAS features, which includes:
- 360-degree surround view camera
- Stop & Go Full Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC-S&G)
- Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB)
- Front Collision Warning (FCW)
- Rear Collision Warning (RCW)
- Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

The Premium variant of the BYD Atto 3 adds on the following ADAS features:

- Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
- Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA)
- Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB)

The new BYD Atto 3 is available in four exterior colours. These are Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey, and Cosmos Black. Priced from RM126,660. Included in the price is an eight-year free service package, a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, and an eight-year or 150,000 km drive unit warranty.
Additionally, a three-year or 60,000 km warranty covers the multimedia system, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, PM2.5 measuring instrument, dust cover, AC/DC charging port assembly, bushings, gaskets, and the USB charging port connector. Furthermore, owners receive a four-year or 100,000 km warranty for the vehicle’s lights, tyre pressure monitoring module, and ball joints.
