Continental Tyres has unveiled the MaxContact MC7, the latest generation tyres in its UHP series designed specifically for the Asia Pacific market. Now available at Continental retail channels across Malaysia as well as Shopee and Lazada, the MaxContact MC7 is offered in sizes ranging from 16 to 21 inches, priced from approximately RM410.
Continental says that the new MaxContact MC7 was designed to provide maximum control and road feedback, shorter braking distances in both wet and dry conditions, and reduced noise levels, courtesy of its new “Sporty C.T.R.L.” technologies consisting of new Cornering Macroblocks, two-in-one Noise Breaker 3.0 aqua channel ducts, reflex compound, and laser-cut 3D sipes.
The new Cornering Macroblocks help retain tread rigidity through corners thanks to its stabilising bars between the tread blocks, optimising the pressure distribution within the tyre especially around high-speed corners to maximise the contact area with the road. The new Reflex Compound is also more resistant to tyre deformation, leading to improved steering response and accuracy.
Updated silica technology within the compound also enhances braking performance through better transfer of energy, while the 3D laser-cut sipes on the treads also work together with the “two-in-one” Noise Breaker 3.0 ducts within the aqua channel to expel water that flows through the tyre grooves, significantly reducing the risk of aquaplaning and improving grip and braking in wet and rainy conditions.
The wet handling and braking performance is particularly relevant to the tropical weather in the region – which Continental would definitely know, since the company’s R&D centre in Malaysia has also played a large role in the development of the MaxContact MC7!

Continental’s Gen7 product line-up in Malaysia now consists of the ComfortContact CC7, UltraContact UC7, MaxContact MC7, and the SportContact SC7.
