Video: Continental UltraContact UX7 SUV – An eye-opening tyre test in Germany!

Continental Tyres brought us to the ADAC test centre in Hanover, Germany, to try out the new Continental UltraContact UX7, which will be replacing the UltraContact UC6 SUV tyres. While we are used to testing tyres, the ADAC facility is truly next level, with extensive wet braking and cornering tests to truly put the tyres through their paces, with a focus on safety in slippery conditions.

The UX7 tyres feature X-Force Macroblocks that increase the contact area with the road for better handling and safety. The tyre is made of Continental’s silica-infused Adaptive Diamond Compound that warms up the tyres efficiently and features Aqua Channels for optimal water dissipation.

As shown in the video, the Continental UltraContact UX7 outperforms its predecessor in wet braking tests — stopping several metres shorter and delivering a noticeably more stable braking experience on the same setup.

The tyres are also quieter and smoother thanks to Continental’s Noisebreaker 3.0 technology built into the tread design. For added durability, they feature Robust360 Construction and a new Diamond Compound that enhances shock absorption and reduces the risk of tyre damage.

Along with testing the new UltraContact UX7 tyres, Continental also toured us around the rest of the testing facility, which included an ice hall, indoor braking facility, and a large oval track, just to name a few.

As the track dried, several performance cars fitted with Continental’s MaxContact MC7 tyres were made available for testing. Naturally, pushing them through a twisty private test course was thrilling — but just as important was the confidence the tyres inspired while doing so.
