Audi e-tron GT facelift teased with new “Performance” variant – improved power, range, & charging

Audi has just “revealed” the facelifted version of its all-electric sports sedan – the Audi e-tron GT. Still wearing camouflage at this phase, the e-tron GT facelift can be seen wearing a sportier-looking set of alloy wheels, along with wider bumpers at the front and back. Speaking of the bumpers, the new e-tron GT is seen sporting a redesigned front bumper that features larger intakes. The rear diffuser has also been swapped out for subtler-looking ones that resemble real exhaust outlets. According to German automotive media outlets who have seen and test-drove the actual car, its interior was also covered with not many details to be seen for the moment being.

The facelifted Audi e-tron GT is said to be improved in many ways, including its performance, range, and charging speeds. Suppose you think Audi is just playing catch-up by enhancing the e-tron GT’s specs to match that of the recently updated Porsche Taycan, you might be wrong. The facelifted sports sedan is said to pack even more power along with an even larger battery. An improved suspension will also make its way into the new model. Also, Audi is said to introduce a new top-of-the-line variant known as the RS e-tron GT Performance, much like Porsche’s Taycan Turbo GT.

According to a report by the German automotive site Auto Motor Sport, Audi Driving Characteristics Development Team Lead, Carsten Jablonowski shared that the focus of the e-tron GT facelift is on improving its chassis. With that, we can expect the upcoming model will deliver better ride and handling, along with better comfort.

Closer to home, the current iteration of the Audi e-tron GT and its more powerful counterpart, the RS e-tron GT, both made their Malaysian market launch last year. The two all-electric sedans are priced at RM600,790 and RM808,790 respectively (OTR, inclusive of Audi Assurance Package).

The RS e-tron GT on the other hand puts out a healthy dose of 598 hp (metric) and 330 Nm. With the momentary “boost mode”, its horsepower count can be increased up to 646 hp (metric) for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.3 seconds. With more performance, could the
