Think the Civic hatchback is handsome? Check out the Kia K4 hatchback

The Kia K4 sedan has just made its debut at the 2024 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) just a few days ago. But it seems like Kia won’t be offering the K4 in sedan form only, as the carmaker gave the world a surprise by unveiling the hatchback version of the K4.

Officially known as the Kia K4 5-door GT Line, the C-segment hatchback essentially shares the same front- and rear-end design as the K4 sedan, featuring the brand’s “Opposites United” design philosophy and signature “Tiger Face”. The K4’s eye-catching pair of boomerang-shaped headlights and rearlights are also here.

As expected, the GT Line nameplate also means the K4 hatchback sports a series of sporty design touches, especially on the outside. To give it a more dynamic appearance, the Kia K4 hatchback also features a floating roof design.

On what’s powering the Kia K4 hatchback, the Korean carmaker has yet to announce any details just yet. The K4 sedan debuted with two powertrains – the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine that makes 147 hp and a more powerful 1.6-litre turbo petrol option that outputs 190 hp. It is likely the K4 hatchback will be sharing the same powertrains as its sedan twin.

Aside from sharing exterior images of its new C-segment hatchback, Kia hasn’t revealed much about its brand-new sharp-looking hatchback. We can expect more info to be announced as we approach closer to the sedan’s on-sale date, which should be taking place sometime this year.
