UMW Toyota sold 97,705 cars so far this year, 7.8% more than in 2022



UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) sold a total of 10,263 cars in November 2023. Out of the total sales figure, 10,020 units are from Toyota models, while 243 units are from Lexus models.

As of November 2023, UMWT’s total year-to-date (YTD) sales are at 97,705 units. Compared to the company’s YTD sales of 90,595 units in the same period last year, this marks a 7.8% year-on-year increase.

Additionally, UMWT introduced the “Drive into the New Year with Toyota” promo for December. With the promo, customers can enjoy up to 100% financing for selected models.

This is coupled with promotional benefits of up to RM15,000 across a range of thirteen Toyota models, including the Toyota Vios and Yaris. The Toyota Service Savers program further offers convenient monthly instalments starting from as low as RM18.

UMWT has inaugurated two additions to its dealer network in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The first marks the official opening and relocation of a 1S outlet in Putatan, Kota Kinabalu. Operated by Harapan Menang, the new location has been designed to better serve customers, and to ensure improved convenience and efficiency in sales and service offerings.

Simultaneously, UMWT also introduced a new 3S outlet expansion in Penampang Sabah. Operated by Armada KK Automobile, the 3S outlet features 18 service bays. Therefore customers can expect faster and more efficient service.

Besides sales, UMWT contributed to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) through the Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign. The donation aims to assist NCSM in expanding and enhancing its services and programs. Aligned with the global initiative initiated by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in 2020, UMWT’s annual Toyota Outrun received a positive response, resulting in a collection of RM170,000.

Toyota achieved a 1-2 finish at the Sepang 1000KM endurance race (S1K) which was held between November 23 to 26. In only its second year of participation, Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia’s Vios and Yaris models managed to secure the top two positions, with Tengku Djan Ley Tengku Mahaleel and Naquib Azlan steering the #37 Vios to victory.

“Our cars celebrated for their resilience and high performance, once again showcase their exceptional capabilities on the track. This victory emphasises our commitment to crafting vehicles that embody durability, reliability, and outstanding performance in the most demanding conditions,” added Datuk Ravindran K.

In the golfing segment, the 72-hole tournament concluded the Toyota Tour Championship from November 15 to 18, 2023, co-sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour. The event, with a prize pool of RM350,000, witnessed Thailand’s Suttinon Panyo securing a three-shot victory.

Young local talents Galven Green and Paul San finished as the best-placed Malaysians, securing T4 on eight-under-par 280 overall. Additionally, Newport Laparojkit achieved the second hole-in-one of the Toyota Tour Championship.
