Ora 07 launched in Thailand, from approx. RM172k – up to 640km range, retractable spoiler



GWM’s Ora 07 has made its launch up north in Thailand. Offered in two variants, namely the Long Range and Performance, prices for the Ora 07 electric vehicle (EV) start at THB1,299,000 (approx. RM172,186) and tops out at THB1,499,000 (approx. RM198,697).

The Ora 07 is GWM’s second all-electric Ora model to make its launch in Thailand. Just in case you find this car familiar, it was originally known as the Ora Lightning Cat back in its home market, China, and was initially called the Grand Cat when it was first previewed in Thailand. However, it has now been launched in Thailand bearing the Ora 07 name instead. Also, its exterior’s resemblance to the Porsche Panamera is certainly something you can’t unsee once noticed.

On the outside, the Ora 07 in Thailand comes with standard features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRL), LED taillights, a panoramic glass roof, and a set of 18-inch alloys, while the Performance variant gets larger 19-inch alloys.

Also added to the range-topping Performance variant is a retractable electric spoiler that will which will open when the door is opened, or when the car is unlocked, or when travelling at a speed of 70 km/h and above.

Performance-wise, the Ora 07 Long Range in Thailand is equipped with a front-mounted single motor setup that pushes out 204 hp (metric) and 340 Nm. Thanks to an 83.5 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, the Ora 07 Long Range is claimed to have an NEDC range of 640 km.

The more powerful Ora 07 Performance in Thailand features a dual-motor setup that pushes 408 hp (metric) and 680 Nm to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. It is also fitted with the same 83.5 kWh battery found in the Long Range variant, but due to its higher performance output, its electric range is slightly shorter at 550 km (NEDC).

Inside, the Ora 07 in Thailand is equipped with standard features such as electrically adjustable front seats, a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, an ambient lighting system, an 11-speaker sound system, and automatic air-conditioning system.

The Performance variant gains extra kits such as a head-up display, and memory function for the driver seat, along with massage and ventilation functions for both front seats.

On the safety front, the Ora 07 in Thailand comes standard with features such as intelligent cruise control (ICC), traffic jam assist (TJA), lane keep assist (LKA), lane departure warning (LDW), and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA).

Door opening warning (DOW), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera system are also included. Added to the Ora 07 Performance in Thailand is an automatic parking feature.

Closer to home, the Ora Good Cat is currently the sole model under the Ora brand that is on sale in Malaysia. However, it is already confirmed that the Ora 07 or Lightning Cat will also be coming to Malaysia soon.
