Kia EV3 and EV4 teased ahead of October 12 premiere – Cerato and Soul successor?

Kia has teased two new electric models which will soon join its “EV#” family. Based on a teaser image released, the two cars may be the Kia EV3 and the Kia EV4. They are shown together in a heavily shadowed image together with the EV5, EV6, and EV9. All cars will be shown on October 12 during the Kia EV Day.

The brand’s current electric vehicle (EV) lineup consists of the EV6 and the EV9. The EV6 is already available in Malaysia and was launched in June 2022. The Kia EV9 has been launched in other regions, but not in Malaysia (although already been spotted on a trailer). The EV5 has been unveiled but its full specifications will be revealed during the mentioned Kia EV Day.

In the teaser image, we are guessing that the cars shown (in order from left to right) are the Kia EV6, EV4, EV5, EV3, and EV9. Various automotive portals have reported that the Kia EV4 will be a Cerato-sized electric car. If our guess is right on the EV4 being the low-slung EV in the teaser image, it appears to sport a unique vertical DRL setup at the front. It also sports a rather pronounced rear quarter panel which gives it a sporty stance.

The Kia EV3 on the other hand, is reportedly an EV successor to the Kia Soul. It has also been spotted testing on public roads in heavy camouflage and may become a reality faster than the Kia EV4. The spied images of the prototype EV3 and the “EV3” in the teaser image suggest that they are indeed the same car.

Both the Kia EV3 and EV4 will premiere on October 12 during the Kia EV Day. Judging by how Kia has been unveiling its cars, they may first be referred to as the Concept EV3 and Concept EV4 ahead of their official launch.

According to Kia, “The Kia EV Day will provide a comprehensive display of the brand’s entire EV lineup, including the Kia EV5, EV6 GT and EV9. Attendees can expect detailed specifications of the EV5, which was launched at the Chengdu Motor Show in August, as well as the introduction of two new concept EVs.”
