Remember the Toyota C-HR? An all-new version will be debuting on June 26

Remember the Toyota C-HR? An all-new version of the stylish-looking SUV that was once sold in Malaysia will debut on June 26, 2023. And just before the debut takes place, a teaser of the upcoming SUV has just been put out.

Looking at the 6-second-long teaser clip, a rear silhouette of the C-HR can be seen. The car looks to be sporting full LED rear lights which extend across the rear of the car, with an illuminated ‘TOYOTA C-HR’ inscription positioned in between. A roof spoiler and shark fin antenna can also be spotted.

This isn’t the first time the Japanese carmaker showcased the upcoming SUV though, as it has once released a concept known as the C-HR Prologue. The Prologue concept, just like the outgoing model features rather angular styling cues, with a fastback-like profile.

At the front of the Prologue is Toyota’s hammerhead shark look, which is also worn by the all-electric bZ4X and the latest Prius together with C-shaped LED headlights. The concept also looks to feature flush door handles.

The Toyota C-HR Prologue features a sporty-looking roof spoiler at the top, and together with protruding rear lights, forms a sporty yet futuristic rear look. The concept also features an aggressively styled rear bumper at the bottom and a pair of what looks to be side-view cameras. This is a pretty crazy feature to be fitted onto a C-HR, considering it is no luxury vehicle. But this is a concept, so that is a given right?

Besides the C-HR Prologue concept, Toyota also showed off the bZ Compact SUV Concept at the opening of the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. Speculated to be a smaller model slotted underneath the bZ4X, the bZ Compact Concept’s exterior styling sported a design similar to the Prologue. This includes sections of the car like the hammerhead shark look at the front, the fastback-like profile, the similarly looking spoiler, and the protruding rear lights.

Fast forward to late last month (May), a C-HR prototype covered by camouflage wrappings was seen being tested on the Nurburgring. And much like the Prologue concept, the prototype sported the brand’s hammerhead shark look at its front, with a sporty-looking black honeycomb grille below. The C-shaped headlights were there as well, judging from the outlines of the camouflage wrappings.

The fastback-like profile was also present, and the car was seen fitted with a set of black wheels. The door handles, both front and back are flushed to the doors, which is an interesting and unexpected feature to see on the C-HR.

However, as expected, unlike the Prologue concept, the side-view cameras didn’t make the cut, with door-mounted side-view mirrors in place instead. The rear of the Toyota C-HR prototype retains the majority of the Prologue concept’s sporty outline, with the roof spoiler, sharkfin antenna, and sporty-looking rear bumper present to complete the sporty looks of the prototype C-HR.
