Volvo opens third and largest Certified Damage Repair Centre in Juru, Penang

Volvo Car Malaysia has opened the doors to its newest and largest Volvo Certified Damage Repair (VCDR) Centre. Located in Juru, Penang, the new VCDR outlet – like the other two in Ara Damansara and Glenmarie – is equipped with modern and state-of-the-art systems to ensure an “end-to-end high quality body repair and paint service” for its customers.

Juru was chosen as the location for the new VCDR outlet due to its strategic location in the Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia and its proximity to major highways, the company says. With a built-up space of 40,000 square feet, the new VCDR in Juru is capable of handling up to 1,200 repair works per year.

The equipment in VCDR Juru, including the Car-O-Liner advanced chassis alignment system and PIVAB paint booth, are all specifically approved by Volvo in Sweden to be used on their vehicles. The latter is also the first of such installation within Malaysia, utilising a fully electric and computerised system to ensure eco-friendliness and quality of paintwork.

The Glasurit paints and additives used at the centre, originating from Germany, are also all water-based, which is said to be better for the environment.
