2023 Toyota Hilux GR Sport launched – first Hilux paddle shifters, sports suspension, from RM159k



UMW Toyota Motor has launched the new Hilux GR Sport starting from RM159,880 on-the-road without insurance. The Hilux GR Sport is available at nine GR Outlets nationwide.

The Hilux GR Sport is based on the 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel Rogue model with 204 hp and 500 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential and gear shift paddles. The GR Sport is the first Hilux to feature gear shift paddles.

Mechanically, upgrades include a new sports suspension with monotube dampers, 18-inch GR Sport alloy wheels with 265/60R18 Highway Terrain tyres just like the 2.8 Rouge model. On the outside, the Hilux GR Sport gets a new front and rear bumper design, new front grille design, red brake calipers with GR branding and new shark fin antenna. 

Colour options for the Hilux GR Sport are Crimson Spark Red, Super White and Attitude Black Mica. Standard features are as per the 2.8 Rogue model; including automatic bi-LED headlamps, LED combination taillamps, LED front and rear fog lamps. The Hilux GR Sport also features illuminated entry system including by the footwell. 

Inside, GR specific items include GR instrument cluster, aluminium sports pedals, seats wrapped in suede and leather with a GR emblem, GR branded keys and push-start button. Standard items include a nine-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster display, six speakers and dual zone air conditioning.

For safety, the Hilux GR Sport comes with seven airbags, blindspot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and the Toyota Safety Sense system featuring dynamic radar cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning and downhill assist control.
