Renault Megane R.S. Ultime revealed – final model, replaces Megane R.S. Trophy, 1,976 units

The Renault Megane R.S. Ultime has been revealed as the final Megane R.S. and will be the last model to feature the Renault Sport logo. The Megane R.S Ultime replaces the Megane R.S. and the Megane R.S. Trophy and will lead the Megane lineup from this year onwards. Only 1,976 units will be built; a tribute to the year Renault Sport was founded. In case you haven’t heard, the new Megane will be fully electric!

The Megane R.S. Ultime is based on the Megane R.S. Trophy with 300 hp and 420 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a dual-clutch transmission and a Torsen mechanical differential. The Megane R.S. Ultime does 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and features a lowered Cup chassis along with 4Control four-wheel steering.

On the outside, the Megane R.S. Ultime is fitted with Fuji Light 19-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 semi-slick tyres which were developed for the Megane R.S. Trophy R. The four exterior colours – Pearl White, Sirius Yellow, Tonic Orange and Star Black – are complemented with stripes on the roof, bonnet, doors, fenders, and rear bumper.

On the topic of the exterior, the Ultime’s bodywork is 60 mm wider at the front and 45 mm wider at the rear fender. Standard items include Recaro bucket seats, Bose sound system, R.S. Monitor, a 9.3-inch infotainment display and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster while the head-up display and sunroof are optional items.

Aside from the Alcantara upholstery and the numbered plaque denoting the vehicle’s exclusivity, the Megane R.S. Ultime also features the signature of Laurent Hurgon, the driver and development expert of the Megane R.S.
