2023 Peugeot Landtrek now open for booking in Malaysia – 1.9L turbodiesel, est. from RM123k

A new pick-up truck is set to enter the market here in Malaysia very soon, in the form of the Peugeot Landtrek. Making its debut in Asia Pacific, the fully-imported Peugeot Landtrek is now open for booking starting at an estimated pricing of RM123,000.

The Peugeot Landtrek is based on Changan Automobile’s Kaicene F70 pick-up truck – a fact that’s obvious when you see the logo branded on the preview model’s truck bed liner – the production model will most likely get its own Peugeot-branded liner.

Detailed specifications were not provided during the preview, but the company has confirmed that it’ll be powered by a 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine underneath the bonnet, making 152 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission, with power sent to all four-wheels via a four-wheel drive system with rear differential lock.

In terms of appearance, the Landtrek stands out with its ‘lion fangs’ daytime-running lights at the sides of the front grille, a signature touch for Peugeot. The preview model here comes equipped with 18-inch wheels, a sports bar, and roof rails, although the final production variants might differ in equipment.

Inside, the Peugeot Landtrek gets a fairly unique cabin design, thanks to its distinctive dashboard styling. It’s not quite the full “i-Cockpit” experience, but there’s at least Peugeot’s iconic piano-style key switches on the centre stack.

Other highlights include a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, alongside a dual-zone climate control system, 360-degree surround-view monitor, and leather upholstery for the seats – with powered adjustability in front, and foldable backrests for the rear.

Safety wise, the Peugeot Landtrek will come equipped with six airbags as standard, alongside ABS and EBD, brake assist, traction control, hill-start assist, hill descent control, and lane departure warning system. Other advanced driver assistance features are not available on the Peugeot Landtrek.
