Hyundai Ioniq 5 becomes first ‘made in Singapore’ EV – ‘First 100’ units for charity auction only



Down South, Singapore has finally caught up with Malaysia, with its first locally assembled (CKD) electric vehicle (EV). The EV in question is the Hyundai Ioniq 5 which will be assembled at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICS). Commemorating the milestone, the first 100 units of the Ioniq 5 produced will be the limited-edition ‘IONIQ 5 First 100’.

The ‘IONIQ 5 First 100’ is adorned with ‘First 100’ car badges and commemorative ‘EVS’ plates numbered 1 to 100. The car will come in the shade Gravity Gold Matte, with Dark Pebble Grey interiors. It will also feature debossed seats for refined detail. Only available in Singapore, the ‘IONIQ First 100’ can only be bought through a charity auction via the President’s Challenge.

The ‘IONIQ 5 First 100’ is based on the highest trim of the Ioniq 5 in Singapore which is the all-wheel drive (AWD Long Range ‘Inspiration Trim Model’ that has a 430 km WLTP range. The dual motor setup produces a total output of 305 hp (metric) and 605 Nm, and it accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.

Charging from 0 to 100% g for the range-topping Ioniq 5 model takes 6.1 hours with an 11-kW AC charger. Thanks to its 800 V architecture, the Ioniq 5 can handle 350-kW DC fast charging which charges the car from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

There will be three variants of the Singapore-assembled Ioniq 5:

  • 2WD Standard Range ‘Exclusive Trim Model’
  • 2WD Long Range ‘Prestige Trim Model’
  • AWD Long Range ‘Inspiration Trim Model

In Malaysia, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in three variants. The Ioniq 5 Lite costs RM207,808, the Ioniq 5 Plus costs RM238,408, and the Ioniq 5 Max costs RM270,408 with the SST exemption no longer in place.
