If you want something different than the usual SUVs and sedans, the wagon body style is something you should consider. One of the very few wagon options in Malaysia is the Volvo V60 Recharge T8. It is essentially an estate version of the S60, fetching a price of RM 313,888.
Assembled at the Volvo facility in Shah Alam, the V60 Recharge T8 gets the “Inscription” styling as opposed to the S60’s “R-Design” package. Offered in only one variant, the V60 Recharge T8 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged and supercharged engine that is assisted by an electric motor.
This beautiful wagon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. This is thanks to the combined system output of 462 hp and 709 Nm. Do note that these figures are after the model update that has bumped the performance numbers up from the previous 407 hp and 640 Nm.
Also included in the model update is a bigger battery. Upon launch, the V60 recharge T8 was equipped with an 11.6 kWh battery that provided a pure electric range of up to 49 km (in ideal conditions). Now with an 18.8 kWh battery, Volvo says the car can drive on pure electricity for up to 90 km (also in ideal conditions).
Inside, the V60 features a nine-inch touchscreen head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For acoustics, the V60 gets a 14-speaker Harman Kardon Premium sound system. The seats are upholstered in a combination of leather and vinyl.
As for safety, the Volvo V60 recharge T8 gets Volvo’s City Safety which includes Collision Avoidance & Mitigation with Intersection Support, pedestrian detection, and steering support and braking. It is also equipped with Driver Alert Control, Lane Keeping Aid, Run-off road mitigation with road edge detection, Oncoming Lane Mitigation, Blind spot Information System (BLIS) with Steer Assist, and Cross Traffic Alert with Auto Brake. For convenience, it is equipped with Volvo’s Pilot Assist and Park Assist.
Priced at RM 313,888, a five-year/unlimited mileage is offered for the Volvo V60 Recharge T8. As for the hybrid battery, it gets an eight-year/160,000-km warranty.
