The fourth-generation Kia Carnival, which officially debuted in Malaysia earlier this year, is now making a reintroduction in our country as a locally-assembled (CKD) model. The CKD 2022 Kia Carnival will be offered in three variants with two different seating configurations, priced starting from RM231,229 here in Malaysia.
The existing 11-seater model will continue to be offered here, and will remain in the existing fully-imported (CBU) form.
EXTERIOR
In terms of appearance, not much has really changed on the 2022 Kia Carnival CKD, with the only differences being the smaller, more car-like wing mirrors, as well as the new LED full-width tail lights at the back, both of which are standard across the range.
All other exterior equipment are also shared across the CKD variant line-up, and they include:

PERFORMANCE
All variants of the 2022 Kia Carnival CKD will be powered by the same 2.2-litre inline-four turbodiesel engine, as found in the existing 11-seater variant.

INTERIOR
The new locally-assembled 2022 Kia Carnival will be offered in either a seven- or eight-seater configuration, with the former exclusive to the range-topping High trim level.
The seven-seater model gets two captain seat-style “Premium Relaxion seats” for the second row, while the eight-seater variants are equipped with a 40:20:40 split-folding, sliding, and detachable seats, which can also be reconfigured to face rearwards.
As for the third row seats, they are 60:40 split-folding, reclinable, and can also be folded flat into the floor for an extended boot space at the back. With the fourth-row seats now gone, both second- and third-row passengers now also benefit from additional legroom.

PRICING
The new 2022 Kia Carnival CKD will be locally-assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah, managed by the new joint-venture company, Kia Malaysia. Pricing for the Kia Carnival variants in Malaysia are as follows, on-the-road, without insurance:

Included in the price is also a five-year/100,000 km warranty with free scheduled maintenance programme.
